We had the good fortune of connecting with Sam Tejada and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sam, how does your business help the community?
Liquivida is a full service wellness center, providing preventative health and wellness services including IV Therapy, Weight Loss solutions, HRT Regenerative Therapies, Medical Aesthetics and more. We are a well care model as opposed to reactive sick care. The issue with medicine today is that it is reactive, only treating symptoms, not the root causes of issues. There are a lot of things that we can do to take a proactive approach so that individuals maintain health rather than treat illness. It all begins with comprehensive diagnostic testing which we call looking under the hood. By finding out what’s going on inside their bodies and making sure people are giving their bodies the nutrients it needs, we can help ensure that people are performing at their peak levels. The origins of Liquivida go back to when I was working as a firefighter paramedic, and had a side job at a company that offered alternative health and wellness options to the very affluent. The medical doctor that I worked for then ultimately became my first mentor. He said that we were on the path to change the course of medicine. My goal is to keep his legacy going by continuing to offer a more proactive preventative approach to people’s health verses waiting until health is a problem. My objective in founding Liquivida was to not allow this type of preventative health to be available to the affluent only, but to expand these services to the masses and bring them to underserved communities, educating people about the different services and modalities available so they can be in control of their health.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Living a purposeful and meaningful life has always been at the core of who I am. From a young age, I wanted to help people, both personally and in the type of jobs I chose. I didn’t want to simply make a living, I wanted to make a difference. Becoming a firefighter/paramedic at age 19 for the City of Oakland Park seemed like the perfect path to fulfill that mission. I am honored and proud to have served my community for 12 years. But during that time, I became increasingly aware of the vast divide between the quality of healthcare services accessible to people from different socioeconomic groups. On my days off from the fire department, my eyes had been opened to the benefits of alternative types of healthcare, like IV therapy, that were really only available to those who could afford it. From my perspective, I saw an opportunity to change that and save far more lives than I could as a firefighter.
That deep-rooted conviction that I could bring transformative health and wellness solutions to the masses.is what drove me to found Liquivida. With $500 in my back pocket, I set out to bring health and wellness to the masses. Fast forward nine years, and with no outside investment of capital, Liquivida has become a multi-million-dollar company, and a rising leader in the modern wellness industry. During this journey, I had to retire as a firefighter/paramedic, the career that I thought was my passion and purpose. But it led me to my next purpose. The challenges along the way were numerous and sometimes overwhelming, but I learned that staying focused on your vision gets you to your goal. And one of the biggest lessons I learned was the value of the relationships I made along the way. Every relationship is an opportunity.
My professional life as a CEO had me engaging with other industry leaders, sharing visions, discussing standards and regulations, and exploring ways to expand access to preventive treatments and modalities. These relationships inspired me to create my first book, How To Win In Modern Wellness: Delivering Trackable Results to Impatient Consumers. The book is an educational and inspirational guide designed to inspire entrepreneurs and medical professionals and be a game-changer to the healthcare landscape.
My journey has led me to places that years ago, I could not have imagined. Feature articles in countless publications, appearances on health-related television segments and entrepreneurial podcasts, a respected leader in the modern wellness industry, an advisor to high-end CEOs, speaking engagements at high profile industry events, a published author, a sought-out resource for other entrepreneurs who want to explore their own path of passion and purpose, and the President & Founder of a franchise company that has created jobs and opportunities nationwide and is making a powerful impact on the wellness industry.

.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In my younger days, my response to this would probably have been a bit different. Today, I would say that anyone who comes to visit me would spend a lot of time outdoors, doing enjoyable physical activities, like kayaking at Biscayne National Park and exploring the bike trails at the various local parks and out by the Everglades. I also really like to take people to one of South Florida’s beautiful beaches, but I especially enjoy doing this in the evening. There’s something very grounding about watching the moon rise, sinking your feet into the sand and feeling grounded and connecting with the earth.
Of course, with some of the best restaurants in the country, there would be a lot of fine dining in local restaurants; and there’s no shortage of healthy locations to choose from. That’s one of the best things about South Florida. You can come here for a wonderful, exciting or relaxing vacation and still be healthy because your diet and exercise can be part of your vacation.
Of course I would include a self-care awareness day at one of our Liquivida locations, where my guest could receive an IV drip, a facial or several other of our services.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are actually 2 people that I’d like to give a shoutout to.

As my business mentor for many years, Jarek Tadla has witnessed my success journey from the start and deserves a shoutout. He actually started as a client of Liquivida and has been very supportive throughout the process. He is a successful business professional, but always makes time for our weekly lunches, giving me advice on how to work with people and staff, and teaching me to always keep certain values on the top of my list. He’s helped me throughout the process by encouraging the building of strong relationships with other key players from my industry.

I’ve never met him, but I’d also like to give a shout out to Marcus Collins, author of For the Culture. The book has really changed my thought process on how to create our communications and how we do marketing. Its .helped me to define how to establish the culture of Liquivida in creating better messaging to our end consumer through our various marketing communications. His book left such an impact on me that I even directed the rest of the Liquivida Management Team to read it. A lot of them have already completed it and are aligning their messaging to be on the same page as me because of understanding what Marcus Collins said in this book.. One of our GOs (global operators) even signed up for one of his online course and gained a deeper understanding of how we want to structure our business.
