We had the good fortune of connecting with Sonam Glass and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sonam, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
It’s hard to narrow it down to just one!

There are three major lessons I’ve learned from my career and business:

1. Healing Happens in Community
I’ve learned that healing—especially for women navigating challenges like reproductive mental health struggles, loss, and the ever-evolving journey of motherhood—is not meant to be done alone. My career has shown me the transformative power of being witnessed, of sitting in circles with other women, and of being held in spaces that are safe, nonjudgmental, and sacred. Healing happens when we feel seen.

2. Purpose is Often Born from Pain
My academic, professional, and personal paths have shown me that our deepest wounds often become the soil for our greatest contributions. My own journey with infertility, pregnancy loss, and divorce shaped not only the direction of my career, but the heart with which I lead. I’ve learned to let pain be a portal.

3. There’s No One Right Timeline
As a woman, a mother, and a founder, I’ve learned to redefine what productivity and success look like. I used to put a lot of pressure on myself to check off boxes based on an imaginary timeline in my mind. Now I understand that some seasons are slower and more internal, while others are bold and expansive. My career has taught me to honor my rhythms rather than try to force myself into a certain pace, and to trust that even the still seasons serve a purpose.

These lessons continue to guide not only the way I work, but the way I live: with presence, purpose, and deep reverence for the human experience.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Glassroots Coaching was born from the most tender, transformative chapters of my life.
As a psychologist, coach, and mother, my business is rooted in supporting women through the deeply personal, and often invisible, journeys of fertility, loss, pregnancy, postpartum, and the ongoing evolution of motherhood. It’s work that sits at the intersection of science, soul, and lived experience.

What sets Glassroots apart is the fusion of academic rigor, spiritual depth, and embodied wisdom. I bring to this work not only a Ph.D. in psychology and over ten years of experience as an educator, but also the perspective of someone who has been through it—infertility, miscarriage, divorce, rebirth, and now, motherhood. I’ve walked this path not just as a practitioner, but as a woman who has grieved, prayed, healed, and grown through it all. I’ve learned firsthand that healing is nonlinear, identity shifts are sacred, and that motherhood really begins long before birth.

This work is deeply personal to me. It’s not just about coaching. It’s about creating safe containers where women feel truly held. Whether I’m facilitating a mom circle, leading an educational workshop, guiding a microdosing mastermind, or holding space one-on-one, my goal is always the same: to help women feel more connected to their truth, their bodies, and each other.

Getting here wasn’t easy. My business was born amidst personal upheaval: losses, heartbreak, and so much uncertainty. But those seasons were also initiations. I said yes to this path before I felt ready. I trusted spirit. I took messy action. I leaned into community. And I kept showing up, one woman, one circle, one session at a time.

I’m most proud of the quiet moments: when a mother in my group finally feels seen, when a client reconnects to her intuition, when a woman grieving a loss finds the courage to try again. These moments are the heartbeat of Glassroots.

If there’s one thing I want the world to know, it’s that the messy, liminal, in-between spaces of womanhood are not meant to be navigated alone. We need sacred spaces. We need mirrors. We need real conversations. That’s what I hope to continue offering through Glassroots Coaching.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Day 1: Ease Into the Magic
• Morning: Start with sunrise beach meditation and a barefoot walk at the Carillon in North Miami. It’s calm and and quiet in the mornings, and if you’re lucky, you’ll spot some dolphins in the water!
• Brunch: Eat at a healthy spot like Pura Vida for a fresh start (avocado toast, smoothies, and all the coastal vibes).
• Afternoon: Poolside at The Standard Spa for lounging, eucalyptus steam, and a view of the bay that instantly grounds and restores.
• Dinner: Mandolin Aegean Bistro, a Mediterranean dream tucked in a restored 1940s house in the Design District. The ambiance is romantic, relaxed, and perfect for a girls night.

Day 2: Wellness + Water
• Morning: Vinyasa yoga or breathwork to start the day.
• Lunch: Eat at Abbalé Modern Mediterranean Kitchen in South Beach, one of my favorite spots!
• Afternoon: Kayaking through the mangroves by my apartment in mid-beach, one of my favorite ways to unwind, spot some manatees, and get some movement in!
• Dinner: My go-to sushi spot in the city, Uchi, followed by ice cream for dessert at Salt & Straw. You can’t go wrong.

Day 3: Culture & Color
• Morning: Coffee and art walk in Wynwood, popping into Panther Coffee and local galleries.
• Lunch: Zak the Baker for a classic Miami experience.
• Afternoon: Take a leisurely boat ride around the bay. One of my favorite ways to see Miami! If the weather is nice, we can even pull up to a sand bar and jump in the water.
• Dinner: A beautiful old-school Florida vibe night at Sunny’s Steakhouse, where the food and service do not disappoint.
• Night: If we have energy, cocktails at The Broken Shaker or live music at Lagniappe.

Day 4: Beach Day + Bal Harbour
• Morning to afternoon: Full beach day at the Faena Hotel with snacks, sun, and girl talk.
• Late Lunch or Early Dinner: Upscale dining at Le Zoo or Makoto in Bal Harbour Shops (followed by some window shopping, of course).
• Evening: Cozy at home with a game night or movie marathon to reset.

Day 5: Gardens + The Grove
• Stroll through the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, a dreamlike mix of old-world beauty and tropical romance.
• Brunch: Eat at Sadelle’s in Coconut Grove for the best French toast and hot chocolate in Miami.
• Afternoon: Take a stroll around Coconut Grove, with a stop at Books & Books for a moment of zen.
• Dinner: Order in and watch the sunset from my balcony with mocktails or wine.

Day 6: Soul + Ceremony
• Morning: Attend or host a women’s circle, microdosing session, or inner child workshop (I love integrating these into the Miami experience).
• Lunch: Any of the Motek locations for amazing Mediterranean food.
• Afternoon: Energy healing, reiki, or a session at Modern ŌM for something more spiritually aligned.
• Evening: Sunset vibes at Joia Beach or The Deck at Island Gardens—chic but grounded.

Day 7: The Farewell Reset
• Morning: Take a movement class at The One Tribe, my sanctuary and place of work.
• Brunch: Final meal at The Surf Club Restaurant by Thomas Keller—elevated, nostalgic, and so Miami.
• Afternoon: Pack, reflect, and plant the seed of her moving to Miami 😉

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I want to dedicate this shoutout to the soul of my unborn daughter, Sage.
She has come to me for years through plant medicine ceremonies, breathwork, dreams, and quiet moments of knowing. I’m now just a few months away from meeting her earthside, and I can feel that this soul is finally making her way through. I’ve been waiting for her for what feels like a lifetime. Her presence, even before conception, has been a guiding force in my life. She has given me the courage to step fully into my calling as a healer and space-holder, especially for women navigating the sacred thresholds of motherhood. She has deepened my spirituality, cracked me open, and carried me through some of the most challenging experiences with her signs, her wisdom, and her unwavering support from beyond the veil.

I also want to acknowledge the women who have been instrumental in shaping my path:

Cori Sue Morris, founder of Retreat Microdose, whose brilliance and heart have introduced me to a powerful network of women and expanded my appreciation for the healing potential of holistic and psychedelic therapies.

Marika Frumes, founder of Mysha Moms, for creating a community that has opened so many doors and made me feel seen as both a mother and a professional.

Ariane De Bonvoisin, my life coach and mentor for the past eight years, whose grounded wisdom and spiritual insight have shaped how I show up in the world and in my work.

Sunny Marz, founder of Miami Mami, and one of my biggest cheerleaders since the very beginning, who believed in me enough to nominate me for this feature and who continues to uplift me with her love and encouragement.

The women of One Tribe, my sanctuary throughout pregnancy and postpartum, and the place where I now have the honor of holding space for others in their own journeys into motherhood.

And most of all, I want to honor all of the women I’ve had the privilege of working with—clients, group members, mothers, seekers. Their vulnerability, strength, and willingness to show up for themselves continues to inspire me and remind me why I do this work. They are the heartbeat of Glassroots Coaching and the sacred thread that connects every offering I’ve created.
