In our view, values and principles are the foundation upon which our lives, careers and relationships are built. So, we asked folks we admire to open up to us about the values and principles that matter most to them.

Together We Are ‘Won’ I would definitely say that connection is a guiding theme in my life. I have always felt that connection is the key to having everything you ever wanted in your life. By helping others, we are helping ourselves grow into who we are meant to be. Read more>>

Authenticity. So many of us have been told we shouldn’t feel X or that we need to hide certain parts of ourselves. If we want to make mental health stigma a thing of the past, we need to be more open about our highs and our lows. We need to embrace what it means to be fully human. As a therapist, I really reject the idea that a therapist should be a blank slate and believe that authenticity and emotional expression are the keys to living a full life. I allow my clients and followers on social media to see my successes, humanity, and struggles and strive for authenticity in everything I do. Read more>>

The value of “character” is what’s most important to me. It is at the core of my decisions as to the people, places, organizations, and issues where I wish to spend my time, energy, and resources. I believe that character includes integrity, honor, grace, duty, and grit. We all make mistakes and poor judgments in life, every one of us—we’re blessed to be human and to err. But over time, character is what a person does when no one is watching, and when everyone is watching. The defining moments are those we face when we must confront a company, executive, public official, supervisor, colleague, or friend that doesn’t share in the same ethics or values. If you can’t help them right the ship in corrective action, forge your own path and surround yourself with great people who do the right things and do things right. Good people, companies, and leaders working together can create extraordinary outcomes and enduring, trusting relationships. Read more>>

OKAICOS prides itself on the principle of feeling ‘okay’. We are a lifestyle brand deeply empowered by a mission to connect with our community and inspire change through our products and partnerships. As a business owner, I have been through my own personal journey of ups and downs and understand life isn’t always the perfect picture on Instagram. It can be tough, challenging, and at times all-consuming. It wasn’t until I decided to ask for help that I began to feel better. Once I learned that it was okay to ask for help and put what I preached into practice, I saw growth not only in my personal life but through my business and the healthy partnerships I formed. This is the foundation of my brand and what I strive to practice in my own life. Read more>>

Servant leadership. Servant leadership is a leadership philosophy in which the main goal of the leader is to serve. I believe I was put on this Earth to lead and inspire others to push themselves physically and be stronger versions of themselves inside the gym and then hopefully out. I feel the best way to do that is by example and motivation. Read more>>

Honesty is the single most important value to me. I always use this approach in business and in my personal life, and this enables me to live and sleep with a clear conscience from day to day. One of the first lessons in business that my father imparted on to me is to always be honest – and this has become our company’s cornerstone. We are not willing to accept a new project and service unless we can stand behind our work and provide true value with our efforts. If we cannot meet someone’s expectations and knock their socks off, we will let them know this up front. Although our team of marble polishers can restore just about any natural stone out there, some projects are not ideal to attempt to tackle. We never want to leave a job with an Owner/Manager who is less than thrilled with our results. Read more>>
